If a person is on the territory of Poland, it is possible to order this certificate independently by directly asking the information bureau of the national register of criminal records or one of the information offices at district courts. Police clearance certificate in Poland is also called a certificate of good conduct.
If this certificate is to be presented outside the territory of Poland, it requires apostilization. Once apostilled, the certificate may be used in the member countries of the Hague Convention. The certificate is apostilled in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland only. That is why it is necessary for the client to find out whether apostilization is required. Otherwise, this certificate may be sent back to Poland for apostilizaion. Except apostilization, the certificate is to be translated into the language of the targeted country and notarized.
